![]() It not only supports things like netplay and uprezing, but it can read your classic PS2 discs for the true experience. There are alternatives now coming out of the woodwork, but it cannot be denied that PCSX2 is one of the gold standards for emulation out there. It recommends using VU cycle hack level 2 or 3.A PlayStation 2 emulator that dates back to 2002 and has continuously been supported since its inception. Karasuhebi ( talk) 17:08, 4 September 2015 (BST) Ok, but it doesn't say in the article that it's 60fps without using cycle hacking. ![]() Until we find a better way to easily communicate to users that they need a higher-performing CPU to play this game, let's leave it. I agree that the whole "AMD sucks for emulation, get Intel" is pretty silly, but there's no denying Intel CPUs have higher IPC performance than AMD CPUs. ![]() Your CPU has an STR of 1506 ( ) seeing as how my i5-4670K which has an STR of 2200+ doesn't get this game running constantly at full speed (what PCSX2 calls 60 "FPS") without heavy cycle hacks, I seriously doubt your CPU can do it without cranking up the cycle hacks, which is NOT ideal. it does get choppy in some places with the VU cycle stealing but that's about it. I can get it running at 60fps with almost no slowdowns at all. I think the info on this page about needing an intel CPU to run this game at 60fps is outdated. With no hacks enabled, the game runs at about 50% speed and displays every frame with the hacks above, it runs at 100+% and displays about 30 FPS with all hacks, it can reach close to 200% but the apparent framerate drops to 10 FPS or below.ĭo you think there are too many serial? Shall we leave them? - CloudUchiha ( Talk) 20:56, 1 February 2015 (BST) Runs at 30-60 FPS while walking and 20-30 FPS during battles, which appears to be what an actual PS2 does. Graphics performance could be better, but it does not affect immersion. The EE Cyclerate hack gives a noticeable speed boost, but with a large drop in framerate.Įxcellent CPU performance the actual processing always runs full speed, no notable glitches after 3 hours of gameplay. VU Stealing gives a HUGE performance boost, but putting it on full makes the graphics slightly choppier. Still, pretty impressive results non the less.ĭX11 Hardware 3x native, progressive scan, texture filtering, half pixel and Agressive CRC all "recommended" speedhacks except MVTU VU Stealing set to 2. Using hardware mode DX11 with half pixel and Aggressive CRC, and DISABLING ALL SPEED HACKS (this one is important as speed hacks were giving me major slow downs!) makes the game just perfect, i don't think sony could have done better than this if they remade the whole thing in HD.oh wait.they did :D GPU: AMD Radeon HD6850 1GB using the Progressive scan and 16:9 options in-game and setting the internal resolution in GSDx (DX11) to 1920x1080, the game runs at 40 to 60fps without speedhacks, but with significant microstuttering.
