New players have a guiding force for the first time since the red war was nuked off the game. And Vanguard focusing means you have a goal to pursue while youre keeping your streak up. Battlegrounds now take up a significant amount of the playlist. Removing power from it means boss fights actually happen now, even with some minibosses, and while its not hard its miles above the borderline art gallery it used to be. Scoring means players no longer run past everything and that the length of a strike, usually, is proportional to the rewards. Vanguard strikes got a massive glow up and people are sleeping on it. Shield color still feels impactful in most content but matching it is no longer completely mandatory like before. Champions are actually fun to fight now, and I never thought I'd say that. PvE has gotten lots of QoL with the game feeling much less "lock and key" across the board. Besides, hunt sets a really low bar in this comparison anyway).
